Student WishMakers
On This Page
Student Wishmakers is a customizable fundraising program that partners schools and youth organizations with Make‑A‑Wish to inspire leadership, service and school spirit through hands‑on fundraising. Every dollar raised, and rally hosted, helps grant life‑changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. What you do as a Student WishMaker makes those moments possible.
WishMaker Kids introduces younger students to the joy of giving back. Through fun fundraising ideas like spirit days, coin drives, bake sales and classroom challenges, kids learn that even small actions can make a big difference.
Students are invited to come up with all types of activities to help raise funds for wishes, here are just a few fun ideas:
- Bunny Hop
- Birthday Wish for Make-A-Wish
- Paper Chain War among Classrooms
WishMaker Teens gives middle and high school students the opportunity to lead meaningful student fundraising campaigns. From organizing spirit weeks and athletic events to launching creative youth fundraising ideas, teens bring their classmates and communities together to support Make-A-Wish.
Middle and high school students are invited to think of ways to get their class, instructors and community involved in supporting wishes. Here are a few ideas to help raise funds:
- Teacher Baby Picture Contest
- Student/Faculty Tournaments
- Relay Race/Olympics
Make-A-Wish® Pennsylvania and West Virginia Youth Leadership Council (YLC) is an exclusive and dynamic leadership development program for Pittsburgh-area high school students. YLC is an after-school program designed to foster the next generation of conscious leaders through philanthropic activities driven by the students. Members possess exemplary leadership skills, a sense of responsibility and a passion for giving back.
WishMakers on Campus connects college students with the Make-A-Wish mission through campus clubs, athletics, Greek life and student organizations. These groups organize rallies, events and youth group fundraisers that bring their school communities together in support of wish kids.
