Summer of Wishes
Summer should be a season filled with joy, adventure, and memories for children. But for many kids facing critical illnesses, summer can instead mean treatments, hospital stays and missed moments with family and friends.
This summer, you can help change that.
From May 21 through August 29, Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas is working to help discover and grant 100 wishes in 100 days for local children with critical illnesses.
We can't do it alone.
Through Summer of Wishes, supporters like you can help create life-changing moments of hope, strength, and joy by donating, fundraising, volunteering, and sharing our mission with your community.
Ways to Help This Summer
Through Summer of Wishes, supporters like you can help create life-changing moments of hope, strength, and joy by donating, fundraising, volunteering, and sharing our mission with your community.
For wish kid Hunter, that support made it possible to experience the adventure of a lifetime.
After being diagnosed with leukemia at just two years old, Hunter spent years undergoing treatment. This summer, he is thriving, playing baseball, looking forward to second grade, and enjoying the chance to simply be a kid.
When it came time to choose his wish, Hunter knew exactly what he wanted. He loves the water and has always been fascinated by dolphins.
From exploring Cocoa Beach to swimming with dolphins and spending quality time with his family, every moment of Hunter's wish journey was filled with joy, adventure, and wonder.
"It was like Christmas in March for Hunter," his mom, Krista, shared. "He was able to just be a kid and have FUN every moment of every day."
This summer, you can help create more life-changing wishes for children like Hunter.
Summer is one of the busiest times for wish granting, but it can also be when support for our mission slows down the most.
Right now, more than 350 children across the country are waiting for their wishes to come true.
A wish is more than a moment of happiness. Research shows wishes can help children build the emotional and physical strength they need during treatment and recovery.
Together, we can help make summer brighter for wish kids across Central and South Texas.
