When six-year-old Christopher had a chance to choose a wish, his request was unexpected. Christopher, who had spent many hours in the hospital with a heart condition, wanted to be transformed into something powerful. He wanted to take a starring role in an action sequence of his very own by becoming a superhero ninja who fought green monsters.
That’s when our community stepped up in a big way. Students from the University of Washington Computer Science and Engineering program created a virtual reality experience just for Christopher. With their skills and creativity, they gave Christopher the chance to look beyond his illness.
Thanks to the help and support of our community, Christopher’s wish came to fruition. It took the creativity of designers, programmers and more to bring his with into (virtual) reality. And the experience impacted those involved in a profound way.
