Employment Opportunities
VP of Advancement
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon grants the wishes of local children with critical illnesses and seeks a Full-Time Vice President of Development to lead all aspects of mission advancement. Major and Planned Giving focused Development professional would be the ideal candidate with 7+ years experience in nonprofit fundraising for $4M+ annual budgets. Management experience is strongly preferred as this position will manage a team of four experienced fundraisers and work collaboratively with a much broader team locally and nationally. Relationship-based fundraising with up-to-date best practice use of technology and methods of complex giving would be ideal. This position allows for some hybrid workdays and is based in Portland, OR. Make-A-Wish offers full benefits including generous PTO and paid holidays. Some travel is required. Internship Opportunities
We offer internship opportunities for college students interested in volunteer management, program services, marketing, public relations, fundraising and events. Internships are unpaid. Make-A-Wish will provide college credit for completing a 200-hour internship. Internship seasons are based on standard academic semesters. For more information, please email [email protected].

Make-A-Wish Oregon finances endeavors through corporate sponsorships, special events, foundation grants and individual contributions. However, we do not solicit funds by telephone and receive no federal or state funding. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, all contributions are deductible to the extent permitted by law. Our financial statements are audited locally by CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. We take our responsibility for the monies donated to our cause very seriously and are pleased to confirm that as of Q2 of FY23, the Make-A-Wish Foundation Oregon spent 81% of every dollar on wish granting and related program expenses. Only 5% of every dollar was spent on management and general costs and 14% was allocated to fundraising.
