We are seeking an energetic, positive and collaborative Individual Giving Manager to join our Development team. The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for raising significant funds through major gifts, planned giving and foundation relations to grant wishes to children with critical illnesses. This position is responsible for managing the entire development cycle for a portfolio of individual and foundation donors. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience in individual gift fundraising with a proven record of successful major gift fundraising solicitations and knowledge of planned giving mechanics and giving vehicles. This position reports to the Director of Development.
Major Gifts
- Qualifying, developing and maintaining year-round relationships with a portfolio of up to 150 individual gift donors or prospects to grow immediate funding, long term funding and planned gifts.
- Serving as a primary out-the-door fundraiser along with CEO and Development Director, building donor relationships through face-to-face cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activity
- Creating individual engagement, stewardship plans and giving goals for each donor based on giving history, relationship and the organization’s knowledge of the donor’s giving potential.
- With assistance from Communications and Development Director, develop Case Statement to be used in donor solicitation meetings
- Managing bi-weekly Major Gift strategy calls with CEO, Development Director and Development Manager
Planned Giving
- Serve as the point of contact for all planned giving inquiries
- Manage the Planned Giving Council
- In conjunction with the Public Relations & Communications Manger develop planned giving related content to integrate into all Make-A-Wish Oregon communications platforms
Stewardship
- Develop and oversee giving societies, including multi-year gifts, mid-level donors and monthly giving to be implemented by the Development Coordinator
- Manage along with CEO and Development Director the Board of Directors Development Committee
- Working with the CEO and Development Director to develop unique giving opportunities in the context of current campaigns, and to identify any needed collateral
- Recruit and steward individual donors by building year-round engagement activities to maximize revenue, build donor loyalty
- Help to increase chapter’s donor retention rate of donors
- Set up meetings for CEO to focus on strategic stewardship of donors
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Collaborative work ethic with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- 5-7 years non-profit individual gift solicitation experience required
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate donor solicitations and successful donor pipeline management
- Experience working in Raiser’s Edge or related CRM platform preferred
- Salary: $58,000 - $60,000
