Evelyn’s young life hasn’t been easy. Cystic fibrosis (CF) makes it difficult to breathe, and she requires hours of daily treatments. Her mom said she’s starting to realize the limitations she has that most other children don’t.
“Evelyn has hard days, sick days, mad at the world days...something we will never understand,” reflected Evelyn’s mom, Kelly. “Those with underlying illnesses need an outlet, and her horse will be that for her.”
On those hard days, made even more difficult by the global pandemic, Evelyn would imagine riding and caring for her horse, who she named Cash. Since her wish came true in October, Evelyn and Cash have been inseparable. Evelyn’s wish helped her think beyond her diagnosis and statistics, providing her hope and confidence that anything is possible even with a chronic disease
