Make-A-Wish® seeks a motivated and energetic full-time development professional in its Morgantown office. Looking for a unique individual who is bold, excellent with people and knowledgeable about community. Requires professional fundraising experience with expertise in major gifts, annual and individual giving, event planning and donor prospecting. Responsibilities also include office/staff management, public speaking and community outreach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as well as a BA or equivalent experience. Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
- Responsible for raising funds to directly support our mission in 33 counties-the northern half of West Virginia
- Maintains current fundraising presence and continually grows revenue and presence in region
- Prepare a yearly revenue budget for region
- Identifies and recruits foundations, corporations, schools, colleges, individuals, business and civic groups for fundraising potential
- Responsible for cultivating and stewarding all regional donors
- Oversees all external special events throughout the region and represents Make-A-Wish at public events and larger special events throughout the region (requires some evening and weekend hours)
- Manages all internal events, most notably the Walk for Wishes
- Requests and completes Walmart Grants and works in tandem with the President/CEO on all other grant proposals
- Completes deposits and deposit logs, provides deposit detail to support team
- Provides support detail for regional donors on online giving reports throughout the month
- Works with local media to increase awareness of Make-A-Wish in the region and serves as the contact/point person for Northern West Virginia
- Maintains communication with Southern West Virginia manager to connect and identify ways to promote Make-A-Wish in all of West Virginia
- Works in tandem with the Volunteer Manager to help recruit, train and manage volunteers as needed
- Works in tandem with the Director of Marketing/Communications to identify referral sources and recruit referrals
- Works in tandem with Major Gifts officer to secure and cultivate major gifts
- Works in tandem with Marketing & Communications department to provide and receive information as needed for all collateral-both print and online (newsletter, social media, etc)
- Researches, identifies, and establishes new Wishmaker at Work®, Kids for Wish Kids® and Wishmakers on Campus® programs
- Generates thank-you letters for all gift donations
- Keeps an updated log of all fundraising events
- Keeps complete and accurate records of donors, finances and other Foundation business
- Manages full time Program Services office assistant
- Oversees Wish Your Way Online Program
- Performs other duties as requested by management.
- BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Sales Force and database management.
- Well organized and detail oriented.
