A Weld Done Wish for Noah

A community forged by strong bonds and one wish

After enduring 33 rounds of radiation and four rounds of chemotherapy, 16-year-old Noah of Montrose, PA, had finally won his battle against his brain tumor. Now, looking towards the future, Noah is focusing on his career path to become a welder.

So, when it was time for Noah to meet with his wish granting volunteers, it was only fitting that he would wish for tools and supplies for his very own welding workshop.

“It didn’t surprise me because he’s not your everyday kid,” Noah’s dad told The Times-Tribune. “He’s not on his phone all the time or playing video games. He’s out in the garage working on stuff.”

On the day of his wish, Noah was surprised with a vast array of welding equipment, tools and materials from Cristiano Welding Supply, Earlbeck Gases & Technologies and other local vendors. In addition to all the brand new supplies, this aspiring young metalworker will also be taking classes at Johnson College to master and refine his welding skills.

“Along with all of the things that we’re giving him here, our partners at Johnson College agreed that we’re going to offer him a couple classes to expand on what he’s learned at Susquehanna CTC’s welding program,” stated Andrew Hess of Earlbeck Gases & Technologies to PAHomepage.  "We get to celebrate hitting sales goals and other business achievements all the time. But it’s not often that we get to be a part of something that makes such a huge difference in a child's life."

The smile on Noah’s face was priceless as he marveled at all his new welding gear, but what really kept him grinning was watching his community come together to support his wish.

"Really, mostly, I want to say is whoever's going through chemo and everything. Keep fighting! It will soon get better," stated Noah to WNEP.
