Summary
Make-A-Wish® seeks a motivated and energetic full-time development professional in its Erie office. Looking for a unique individual who is bold, excellent with people and knowledgeable about community. Requires professional fundraising experience with expertise in major gifts, annual and individual giving, event planning and donor prospecting.
Responsibilities
- Establishes a fundraising presence in region.
- Identifies and recruits foundations, corporations, schools, colleges, individuals, business and civic groups for fund-raising potential.
- Oversees special events, both internal and external.
- Requests and completes Walmart grants.
- Completes deposits and deposit logs, and updates online giving reports throughout the month.
- Represents Make-A-Wish at public events and special events throughout the region.
- Recruits, trains, and manages volunteers.
- Works to identify referral sources and recruit referrals.
- Provides information for newsletters and updates.
- Secures donations of goods and services for wishes.
- Produces complete and accurate monthly reports.
- Manages the full-time and part-time office assistants and ensures the success of those job responsibilities.
- Generates thank you letters for all gift donations.
- Keeps complete and accurate records of wishes, donors, finances, and other Foundation business.
- Works with local media to increase awareness of Make-A-Wish in the region.
- Conducts an annual fundraising campaign each December, Light Up A Child’s Life.
- Performs other duties as requested by management.
Education & Experience
- BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Well organized and detail-oriented.
- Committed to the mission of Make-A-Wish.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to represent Make-A-Wish in a positive light to all constituents.
- Knowledgeable about the community.
- Ability to prioritize and manage many tasks effectively. Proven success in stressful situations.
- Ability to make sound decisions in quick timeframe.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to successfully work in a collaborative, team-oriented organization.
- Successful completion of Criminal Background Checks.
