Donor Spotlight: Meet Tim & Mary Wilks

Founders of the Jennifer Wilks Foundation Recognized by KVUE

Tim and Mary Wilks are community leaders and founders of the Jennifer Wilks Foundation, an Austin-based nonprofit that delivers goodness to organizations like Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas. In June, they were recognized as recipients of the KVUE Five Who Care Award.

"This recognition belongs to everyone who has supported the Jennifer Wilks Foundation over the past 21 years. Your generosity, dedication, and belief in our mission have made a lasting impact on the children and families we serve," Mary shared.

The Jennifer Wilks Foundation was established in 2005 to honor Tim and Mary's daughter, Jennifer, by raising funds for the organizations that helped put a smile on her face during her battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

"Today, we honor her legacy by carrying forward her vision, supporting children and families across Central Texas and bringing joy to those who need it most. Mary and I find comfort in knowing that Jennifer is watching over us, her spirit continuing to inspire all that we do," Tim shared.

The foundation's 21st Annual Golf Tournament this past April was a tremendous success, raising funds to directly support our mission of granting wishes to children with critical illnesses.

“Tim and Mary have turned Jennifer’s legacy into something truly meaningful for children and families in our community. We are so grateful for the commitment they have made to bringing hope, strength, and joy to local children through our work at Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas. Their generosity has made a lasting impact on many wish kids and families, and this recognition is so well deserved," shared Andrea Taurins, CEO.
