You gave Lilith a perfect, bluebird day

When Lilith hit the slopes at White Pass with her sisters, Madison and Haley, it was her first time snowboarding.

Before long, she looked right at home on the mountain on a beautiful bluebird day.

“It was amazing to see Lilith so happy; to see her excitement at learning something new and the smile on her face was priceless,” said Lilith’s mom, Jennifer.

For Lilith and her family, this wasn’t an average snowboard trip. It was the culmination of a long journey and provided a spark of hope after many difficult months.

Lilith’s life drastically changed when doctors diagnosed her with astrocytoma, a type of brain tumor. She went through chemotherapy for more than a year and will be on seizure medication for the rest of her life. Her whole family lived through the tumultuous treatment together.

So when Lilith had the opportunity to choose a wish, she immediately knew she wanted to include her sisters. That’s when she decided to do something she’d never done before: snowboard.

“Lilith’s wish showed her that she can try new things, that learning is fun and that she is strong”

That’s because a wish positively impacts the life of a child. It replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope.

Through her wish, Lilith gained a new skill and a renewed sense of support from her community.

“Make-A-Wish truly cares about the children and wants to make them feel seen and heard,” said Jennifer. “We have been very blessed with the loving help of our community and everyone involved.”

Wishes like Lilith’s are possible because of volunteers and donors like you. Get involved today!

“Having a wish encourages children with illnesses and gives them hope,” said Jennifer. “They have something to fight for while going through their treatments.”

Special thanks to White Pass, Scott Harder and wish-granting volunteers Christine Bishop and Stephanie Lopez.
