Natalie’s Rockstar Wish to go to the GRAMMY Awards
Lights... Camera.... WISHES! Natalie’s wish to go to the 2026 GRAMMYs in Hollywood was nothing short of unforgettable. For Natalie her wish was more than just a night of music; it was a celebration of hope, resilience and the power of community support.
Natalie, now 15, has faced medical complexities her entire life. She began her journey with a three‑month hospital stay due to pertussis, went through numerous leg‑lengthening surgeries and was diagnosed with cancer at just 14. Although her path has been anything but easy, Natalie continues to shine bright as an inspiration to others, always smiling and facing obstacles head-on.
To navigate these obstacles, Natalie has always turned to music. Music wasn’t just an escape from reality, but her inspiration to face the obstacles with bravery and resilience. Her wish to attend the GRAMMYs was a chance to see, in person, the artists who had inspired her throughout her journey, bringing her story full circle.
But the experience was more than watching the award show; it was a day of glitz, glam and unforgettable moments for Natalie and her fellow wish recipients. Starting the day bright and early, Natalie’s morning began with professional hair and makeup.
Natalie and the other wish recipients hit the Red Carpet dressed to the nines, where they had VIP spots to watch the celebrities. Many artists went above and beyond to make the wish kids feel welcomed, staying to chat, sign autographs and pose for pics. And that was just the beginning. The group witnessed the performance of a lifetime and, more importantly, made lifelong friendships with the other wish kids who had a shared passion for music. After facing medical challenges her entire life, Natalie had to grow up quickly, often finding it difficult to relate to peers her age. But during her Make‑A‑Wish trip, she met others who understood her journey firsthand, creating a sense of belonging she hadn’t experienced before. The group keeps in touch through a shared group chat, giving Natalie friends across the country who truly understand her.
Natalie’s wish was a reminder of the strength, bravery and resilience of our wish kids who inspire our community every day. Like the GRAMMYs, wishes provide more than new experiences, but a chance for our wish families to reflect and celebrate all that they have overcome.
Special thanks to everyone who made this wish come true including Make-A-Wish America, The Recording Academy, The GRAMMYs, United Airlines and her wish-granting volunteers, Ken Kieffer and Lou Cutler.
