Caleb, a 14-year-old boy from Texas, has a passion for acting and wished he could meet the cast of his favorite ABC television show, “The Good Doctor,” a drama series about a talented young surgeon with autism.
Thanks to Walt Disney Television, Make-A-Wish teamed with the cast and crew of “The Good Doctor” to make Caleb’s wish come true. Not only would he get to fly to Vancouver and meet the cast, he’d also get to make his television debut.
When his limo pulled up to the set, Caleb was quickly ushered over to his very own trailer. He then got his hair and makeup done, went through wardrobe and even got warm hugs from lead actors Freddie Highmore and Hill Harper, and director Tara Nicole Weyr. After rehearsals and a few run-throughs, Caleb nailed his close-up as a patient in the hospital. And Caleb’s parents saw a spark ignite within their son that day.
Although Caleb still has to undergo treatments for his heart condition, today his heart beats stronger and his passion runs deeper for acting. This won’t be the last time we see Caleb on television.
Caleb’s wish was granted by Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana.
