Pua's wish helps her recapture hope for the future

For 15-year-old Pua, there is nothing more exciting than putting together a polished video. She fell in love with videography in middle school and considered pursuing it as a career.

But everything changed after Pua received a devastating cancer diagnosis. Through intensive treatments and everything she endured, Pua finally saw a light of hope when she connected with Make-A-Wish. She knew that her heartfelt wish was to have professional videography equipment so that she could recapture her dream of becoming a videographer.

When Pua saw her full suite of top-tier equipment, her face lit up with amazement. “We felt like we could breathe again, seeing her so happy,” said Ellen, Pua’s mom. “She was ready to dive into film, to edit, to fly the drone all at once. Her wish gave her joy and drive.”

Today, Pua is already taking on professional videography jobs. Her wish and videography passion has brought her renewed joy while she finishes cancer treatments.

“It’s wonderful and inspiring to see how excited she gets when she starts working on a project,” Ellen said. “She is able to push through her nausea because she wants to finish her edits and audio. This is a life-changing and life-energizing experience … We are so thrilled and thankful.”
