Godric takes the wheel: his monster truck wish

5-year-old Godric from Woodbridge, VA is always on the move and likes cars that do the same!

Whenever Godric sees anything with four wheels – from race cars to monster trucks – he completely lights up. His treatment journey for cancer has been plagued with hardships, but whenever a Formula 1 race or monster trucks were on TV at the hospital, his medical team made sure he had a TV nearby to watch them since they knew it brought him so much joy.

When it came time for Godric to consider his wish options, he had a one-track mind and wished to have a monster truck experience. With his parents Ayeshah and Christian by his side, Godric traveled to Philadelphia for a special behind-the-scenes experience at the Hot Wheels Monster Truck Live Event!

Godric received the VIP treatment as he was allowed into the arena hours before the event started. He got up close and personal with the monster trucks he would see later that night and met with the Hot Wheels Live drivers, hosts and crew. His parents beamed as they watched their son take in such a special opportunity. Later that night, Godric was mesmerized seeing all the monster trucks in action from his private, decked out suite full of toy cars and coloring sheets.

After seeing his excitement during his wish, Hot Wheels reached out to Godric post-wish to ask if he wanted to create a custom Hot Wheels car. Of course, Godric jumped at the chance and sent a drawing of his design to the team of a yellow monster truck with big blue wheels and red stripes.

When he received his custom toy car, he couldn’t believe his vision came to life and now has it framed on the top shelf of his playroom. His dad calls the custom car Godric’s “most prized possession” and it serves as a great reminder of his unforgettable wish!
