Family is the most magical gift, and 12-year-old wish kid Wekem knows that to be true.

Wekem battles a blood disorder, and when he was told he qualified for a wish, he had already dreamed up the perfect getaway. One of his older brothers, Wedam, is a former wish kid who had his wish to go to Walt Disney World granted several years ago.

On their last trip, Wekem remembered how much fun and quality time their family spent together. Wekem has carried those wonderful memories with him, and for his own wish, he wanted to experience the magic of Disney alongside his family once again. And now that Wekem is older – and taller! – he could not wait to finally ride many of the rides he’d only been able to watch at a distance until now.

Wekem excitedly left his Leesburg, VA home behind for a week in exchange for a fun, fantasy-filled trip. His mom shared that the rides were his favorite part, and some favorites included Space Mountain, Mission Space and The Rockin’ Roller Coaster. Meeting Mickey Mouse and Goofy were also a highlight! Spending quality time with family was of utmost importance to Wekem. While exploring all the parks and finding magic at every turn, Wekem had the Disney vacation of his dreams and created many more happy family memories to treasure!

According to the 2022 Make-A-Wish Impact Survey, 92% of wish alumni said the wish experience brought their family closer together.
