Zoe, 7, wished for a French bulldog puppy to have a new fur-ever friend
When Zoe was diagnosed with leukemia, it was clear she needed a friend to help her through the tough times.

“Our family already has a boy dog named Morty but I’ve always wanted a girl puppy of my own,” said Zoe. “I think I wanted Morty to have a friend, too.”

Zoe wished to have a black French Bulldog puppy, who she named Cupcake, and the two shared an instant connection.

Since then, Cupcake has comforted Zoe and helped her stay paws-itive while she goes through her cancer treatments.

When I don't feel good, I snuggle with my her and she always makes me feel better. She’s quiet but she does snore VERY loud!

Zoe’s mom, Ashley, wasn’t surprised when she asked for a dog for her wish. In fact, Ashley believes Cupcake is exactly what her daughter needed and is the perfect addition to their family.

“She loves animals so much, she probably would have wished for a farm if we let her have all those animals,” said Ashley.

“But not horses because they are gross!” Zoe quickly added with a laugh.

Zoe is looking forward to teaching Cupcake new tricks but for now, they are simply enjoying each other’s company and having some fun.

“She has school online and Cupcake loves to sit on her lap or next to her in her bed. She follows her around all the time,” said Ashley.

“Zoe is super happy and plays with Cupcake whenever she gets a chance. This wish has been uplifting for her and gives her a lot of joy.”
