It is my sincere hope that you will join me in celebrating a truly special milestone this April — 45 years of Make-A-Wish Arizona.

Dear WishMakers,
When my son, Chris, was diagnosed with leukemia, he had one dream: to become a police officer.
On April 29, 1980, my little bubble gum trooper received an official uniform, helped with traffic stops, and flew above the city in a police helicopter, thanks to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

That day, I saw my son come alive with hope and joy. It remains one of my most cherished memories — so much so that I remember his wish more than his illness.
After Chris' wish, a small group of kindhearted individuals came together with one idea: to bring this same joy to other children facing critical illnesses.
We started Make-A-Wish with nothing more than the change in our pockets, never imagining how one little boy’s heartfelt wish would spark a global movement.
Today, I've witnessed the power of a wish not just through Chris, but through the hundreds of thousands of wishes granted since 1980.
And as we mark this incredible anniversary, I know there is still so much more we can accomplish together. Thank you for being part of this journey.
Here's to 45 years of hope, strength, and joy, and to all the wishes yet to come.
Sincerely,
Linda Pauling
