Summary

The Corporate & Foundation Relations Manager for Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic reports to the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations. In this role, he/she will maintain a portfolio of 100-150 donors, foundations & prospects and will be responsible for supporting all aspects of foundation and corporate giving, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a portfolio of 100-150 mid-level corporate and foundation donors and prospects; build and maintain relationships with new and existing donors

  • Manage all aspects of foundations writing for grants, letters of inquiry, and follow up reporting

  • Obtain and organize data necessary for proposal writing and reporting

  • Support the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations with generating revenue, including, pipeline management, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship

  • Track all necessary donor data, including contact reports, actions, and proposals in Raisers Edge (RE) database for own personal portfolio

  • Assist in preparing solicitation materials, gift agreements, and presentation materials.

  • Provide support for Board Members, Chief Revenue Officer, CEO, and Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations in meeting and proposal preparation and follow-through

  • Attend and support special donor-related events when necessary

  • Collaborate with members of the Revenue Team, members of other departments, board members and volunteers to increase and raise revenue

  • Research new corporate and foundation prospects

  • Identify challenges and recommend solutions to senior leadership

  • Attend chapter events as needed in support of the chapter’s mission

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Knowledge of and adherence to the Foundation’s policies, procedures, and processes regarding proposal submissions and execution.

  • Skill in writing and managing projects, submitting proposals, following up and tracking information to a successful finish.

  • Skilled at building lasting relationships with potential donors and volunteers.

  • Skills and experience working in a team environment.

  • Ability to manage a wide variety of responsibilities and projects.

  • Ability to interface with volunteers and donors

  • Ability and experience researching information and people through different databases and writing reports.

  • Ability to demonstrate professional ethics which include approaching others in a tactful manner; reacting well under pressure; treating others with respect and consideration; accepting responsibility for own actions; following through on commitments.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities and work in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to interpret guidelines and procedures and analyze the proper response if faced with a problem.

  • Other Requirements: Travel to meetings and events as necessary. Work nights and weekends, as necessary, to attend meetings and events. Must have access to reliable transportation and ability to travel to meetings or events at different locations.

Education & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Non-profit Management, or similar field.

  • Experience: Three (3) years of experience in building relationships with potential donors and community members and volunteer management, preferred. Experience in non-profit fundraising, writing and research and Computer/System Skills: Microsoft Office and database management, preferably Raiser’s Edge database management software.
