Internships 

At Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida, our internship program offers the opportunity to turn purpose into practice. Interns play a meaningful role in helping bring hope, strength, and joy to children with critical illnesses and to the families who support them. During your internship you will gain valuable, hands-on experience in a compassionate nonprofit environment.

We currently offer internship opportunities within our Development, Program, Marketing, Finance & Operations teams. Each internship is designed to provide real-world learning, supportive mentorship, and exposure to the impactful work that fuels our mission.

Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida finance endeavors through corporate sponsorships, special events, foundation grants, and individual contributions. However, we do not solicit funds by telephone and receive no federal or state funding. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, all contributions are deductible to the extent permitted by law. Our financial statements are audited locally by CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. 

At Make-A-Wish, we are committed to using donations responsibly to create life-changing wishes for local children battling critical illnesses. Based on our FY24 audited financials, 65% of funds were allocated to wish granting and related programs, while 20% supported fundraising efforts, and 15% was allocated to management and general expenses. We are proud to be a BBB Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida Accredited Charity Seal Holder, having met all 20 BBB Standards for Charity Accountability. 

Our chapter is local to Central and Northern Florida, serving 45 counties and focusing first on meeting the needs of the children in our hometown communities. As we continue our efforts to reach every eligible child in our community, we also look to areas of the greatest need to bring hope, strength, and joy to children across the country who are traveling to our chapter for their wish.
