Wish Kid Eden

Eden's Wish is Waiting

Meet Wish Kid Eden

For every 1 wish granted, 2 eligible children with critical illnesses are still waiting.

Over the past two years, Eden (AY-den) has lost more than her eyesight.

What began as minor vision problems turned into countless appointments, specialist visits, genetic testing, and months without answers. More than two years later, doctors finally discovered the cause: an ultra-rare form of cancer hidden deep within her brain.

Today, Eden is rebuilding her strength after treatment while learning to navigate life as a blind teenager.

Yet through it all, she hasn't lost her optimism.

She is teaching herself Braille, learning new songs on the piano, and always looking for ways to make others smile.

Now, she's beginning a different kind of journey...her wish journey.

Long before a wish is granted, children begin imagining what's possible again. Families have something joyful to look forward to and hope slowly starts replacing fear.

"We're looking forward to her experiencing that same kindness and generosity, and to her having an adventure," said TJ. "Despite all the difficulty and complexity of Eden's medical journey, she is still the most generous and kind person."

A Wish Discovery Interview is one of the first steps in a child's wish journey. Make-A-Wish Wish Granters spend time getting to know each child, learning about their interests and what would bring them the greatest joy before working with the child and family to determine the details of their wish.

For children like Eden, the power of a wish begins long before the wish is granted. The anticipation gives children something positive to look forward to and helps families focus on hope, possibility, and joy during an otherwise difficult time.

Your donation can help bring one more child closer to the life-changing wish they deserve.
