Oakley’s Wish Come True in Hawaii
Oakley’s medical journey began before she even entered the world. At 20 weeks pregnant, Oakley’s parents learned she would need open heart surgery shortly after birth.
What followed were years filled with surgeries, procedures, hospital stays, and long stretches of uncertainty. Through it all, Oakley’s bright spirit continued to inspire everyone around her.
After learning that her heart could no longer be repaired, Oakley spent months inpatient waiting for a heart transplant. In February 2025, after an entire year in the hospital, Oakley received her miracle heart thanks to the selfless gift of organ donation.
Shortly after, Oakley’s wish to go to Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii, was revealed during a special celebration hosted by Covert Bee Cave in August 2025. Surrounded by love and excitement from family and friends she met during her hospital stay, Oakley declared that she never wanted to leave because she was having so much fun.
From that day on, the countdown to Hawaii became a bright spot in her journey. When asked what she was most excited to see, Oakley happily shared her love of sea turtles.
In September 2025, during her birthday month, Oakley’s wish was finally granted, creating unforgettable memories for her entire family. “Everything about it was magical,” her mom shared. “After experiencing so much hardship and pain, this trip meant the absolute world to our family. Being together in such a beautiful place is something we will cherish forever.”
After years marked by pain, stress, and time spent within hospital walls, Oakley’s wish gave her family something they had deeply missed without even realizing it. Time together. Time to rest. Time to simply be a family in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
This February, during American Heart Month, Oakley’s story is a powerful reminder of the impact of a wish. It fills hearts with hope, strengthens families, and brings joy during life’s most challenging seasons.
