Manasquan Inlet Tug of War Event Takes Place Sunday, October 8th

Event To Raise Vital Funds for Make-A-Wish® New Jersey

The highly anticipated Manasquan Inlet Tug of War event, proudly presented by Jersey Mike’s Subs, is set to make its triumphant return to the picturesque Inlet on Sunday, October 8th. This year’s event promises an exhilarating display of competitive spirit as nine teams engage in intense tugs of war, pitting the strengths of Manasquan against Point Pleasant Beach, spanning the expanse of the 450-foot-wide Manasquan Inlet. The occasion will be accompanied by two immersive festivals and lively after-parties, offering a complete day of family-friendly enjoyment for participants and spectators alike.

True to its commitment to the community’s welfare, the Manasquan Inlet Tug of War event continues to champion noble causes. Registration fees generated from the event will be dedicated to bolstering the recreation departments of both Manasquan and Point Pleasant Beach, reinforcing their vital roles in promoting community engagement and wellbeing. The event is also supporting Make-A-Wish New Jersey, as registered participants actively fundraise throughout their local communities to help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Last year’s participants collectively raised $10,000.00 for Make-A-Wish New Jersey, a testament to their dedication to making a positive impact.

Wish families will be in attendance on both sides of the inlet, serving as ambassadors to thank and inspire event participants, and leading each team up to the tug of war box, surrounded by cheering crowds.

Also in attendance this year on the Manasquan side of the inlet will be the Make-A-Wish New Jersey Wish Bus, making stops throughout New Jersey, the tristate region and beyond, spreading the great mission of Make-A-Wish.

The Wish Bus was generously donated by longtime, dear friends of Make-A-Wish, the Crowley Family - John & Aileen, their children Megan, Patrick, both wish recipients, and John Jr. and his wife Amanda and their daughter Stella. With this gift, Make-A-Wish New Jersey now has the ability to take their magical and whimsical castle, and their profound mission, on the road. It will travel to schools, hospitals, major concert and sporting events and other special events in the community like the Manasquan Inlet Tug of War, to help raise awareness and invite and engage the community into deeper and more meaningful relationships with Make-A-Wish.

Celebrating its fifth year, the event has seen both Manasquan and Point Pleasant Beach claim victory twice, heightening the anticipation for this year’s showdown.

Geoff Brown, the event chairman, remarked, “Our journey over the past few years has been marked by remarkable achievements, and we’ve tirelessly worked for months to ensure that this year’s edition stands as a pinnacle of excellence.”

On October 8th, the day of reckoning, two vibrant festivals will adorn each side of the Inlet, granting fans unrestricted access to an abundance of entertainment. Revelers will immerse themselves in the festivities, complete with live music, delectable cuisine, refreshing beverages, curated crafters, and engaging vendors. The atmosphere will be electric as attendees rally behind their chosen sides, fostering an unforgettable sense of camaraderie and excitement.
