Jersey Mike's Subs Partners With Make-A-Wish For Annual Month Of Giving

March 1, 2020

Monroe Township - For the fourth consecutive year, Make-A-Wish New Jersey has been selected as a charity of choice by Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurants throughout the Garden State for their annual March Month of Giving campaign, raising vital funds needed for the organization’s mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Customers can make a donation to Make-A-Wish New Jersey at any of the 82 Jersey Mike’s Subs participating locations throughout the month of March.  And on Wednesday, March 25th, Jersey Mike’s Subs “Day of Giving”, the same Jersey Mike’s restaurants will donate 100% of the day’s sales to Make-A-Wish New Jersey. Whether customers order a sub, a catered meal or even a bag of chips, Jersey Mike’s will donate every single dollar to Make-A-Wish New Jersey — not just the profit!

“How grateful we are here in the Garden State to be once again a chosen charity of our friends at Jersey Mike’s Subs,” shared Tom Weatherall, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish New Jersey. “The annual Month of Giving is an example of how a community can come together and make a significant impact on a local child and family. The support of our friends at Jersey Mike’s gives us the confidence that when we ask that magical question, ‘If you could have one wish, what would it be?’, no matter what a child’s answer may be, we can say that their wish will be granted.”

Last year, Jersey Mike’s Subs raised $458,700 for Make-A-Wish New Jersey, which helped to grant nearly 50 wishes to local children in the weeks and months that followed. Since their partnership began in 2017, Jersey Mike’s Subs has cumulatively raised over $1 Million for Make-A-Wish New Jersey, granting over 100 wishes to children with critical illnesses.

“This March, we celebrate our 10th Annual Month of Giving, an idea inspired by one of our local franchise owners,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old. “Since then, we have raised more than $31 million with the support of our generous local owners, crew members and customers. This March, I invite you to come in and celebrate this milestone with us and make a difference in your community.”

Last year’s Month of Giving raised a record amount of more than $7.3 million for local charities nationwide, and in 2020, the company’s 1,700 locations hope to raise more than $8 million during the 10th Annual Month of Giving.

Make-A-Wish New Jersey has granted nearly 11,000 wishes since its inception in 1983. The generous support of corporations like Jersey Mike’s Subs is critical to the organization’s continued success.
