Quentin is an intelligent teenager with a wide range of interests. From making music, to exercising, to playing games – this 17-year-old from Washington, D.C. is always ready to talk and crack jokes with friends and family. While battling cancer, Quentin has drawn hope from both the encouragement of loved ones and his wish journey.
Initially, Quentin’s love for anime led him to wish for a family trip to Japan, where he could immerse himself in the Japanese culture that he’s been fascinated by for years. On his to-do list? Visiting all the tourist spots and eating all the food. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the uncertainty of when it would be safe to travel, Quentin decided to reimagine his wish and put it toward another life adventure he’d been eagerly anticipating.
Quentin was excited to become a college freshman, and in chatting with his wish granters, the Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic team mentioned that some college-bound wish kids have wished for tuition assistance. Quentin liked the idea of using his wish to further his education.
Quentin is now a thriving sophomore at a technology university. His wish ultimately provided some financial relief, so now he can focus on the bright future ahead of him. To thank his supporters, sponsors and the Make-A-Wish team, Quentin recorded a video message and said:
“Your constant support has allowed me to fight this life-threatening illness and come out on top, and for that I thank you. Your support has left a long-lasting impact on my family and I, and words alone can’t describe how truly grateful I am.”
Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic honors our uniformed services families, with wish kids like Quentin whose parents are serving or have served in the military.
