Cancer warrior Owen from Pasadena, MD is a 16-year-old sports fanatic who enjoys country music and video games. He also loves being outside and with his friends and siblings, whether at home or on his family’s frequent travels to Ocean City, MD.

When he was approached by Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic wish granting volunteers to determine his wish, he had so many ideas and thought long and hard about which option would bring him the most joy. Talking about what his wish could look like really opened him up and made him smile as he dreamt about the amazing possibilities.

Since Owen loves lacrosse and plays on his high school team, he wished for a lacrosse practice area in his backyard. His birthday occurred the same week as his wish reveal, so he had a combined lacrosse-themed birthday party and wish day celebration! He enjoyed cake, gifts and most of all, was so excited to see his wish come true.

Thanks to his hardworking vendor team The Net House and Hercules Fencing, Owen’s vision for this area was exactly as he imagined it, including a goal with driving netting to catch his shots and a portable lighting fixture for nighttime play. It was everything he hoped it would be and he was so ready to enjoy his wish, that he and his friends immediately started playing their own practice game.

Owen is thrilled to now have his own at-home lacrosse space to play and practice on whenever he chooses!
