Described by his father as a “fireball,” 5-year-old cancer-fighter Dayonie from Reisterstown, MD is an energetic, fearless child with a playful spirit. “He always makes us laugh. He dances, he draws, he’s loved at school; he’s a special guy,” Dayonie’s dad, Daniel, said. Despite his complex medical needs, Dayonie’s favorite activity is running around outside with his siblings. When he was told he qualified for a wish, Dayonie knew exactly what to wish for – a backyard clubhouse in his favorite color, green. Dayonie wasted no time planning the specifics for his dream clubhouse. He wanted a ladder, slide, rock-climbing wall, doors and windows so he can see who is coming, and enough space for his whole family to fit inside so they can play games together.

“When we got that call [that Dayonie was being granted a wish], we were over-the-moon ecstatic. To have this [clubhouse] out here, it means the world. It means everything. He can go into his backyard and play and have a good time, and just be like every other kid,” Daniel said.

Dayonie’s wish vendors, MCN Build Foundation and Lakeview Sheds & Vinyl Products LLC, immediately set to work so Dayonie’s clubhouse could be ready for play on his 5^th birthday. The teams installed the clubhouse piece-by-piece and built the platform from scratch to ensure Dayonie had an unforgettable wish experience and birthday surprise.

“Oh my goodness!” Dayonie exclaimed when he first saw his completed clubhouse. He immediately ran inside and said, “Hi, daddy!” as he waved to his dad from one of the windows. Dayonie then shouted with excitement, "This is the best day of my life!”

According to Dayonie’s mom, Hayyan, Dayonie and his siblings have been playing in the clubhouse endlessly, and it’s become the hot spot of their neighborhood as their friends and neighbors want to join in on the fun. “As parents, seeing Dayonie and other kids get to enjoy and play is so heart-warming,” Hayyan said. “Words are not enough to fully express how thankful our family is for this blessing and gift given to Dayonie. We are very grateful from the bottom of our hearts.”
