Landen’s wish gives him hope for a brighter future

Landen has always been fascinated with police because: “they help people and arrest the bad guys!” When he connected with Make-A-Wish, he knew he wanted to be a police officer.

“It was devastating when we learned Landen had cancer,” said Landen’s mom, Brittany. “As soon as we learned he would be granted a wish, it was a relief. He needed a break from the pain, and it gave him something to look forward to.”

On his wish day, Landen was officially sworn in. “I’m a real cop!” Landen proclaimed. He spent the day on patrol, led a parade, explored a helicopter and learned how to train a K9 officer. Landen even captured a bad guy, an experience that made him giggle with delight. Later, the family covered their entire house with photos from his wish.

“I wanted him to be able to relive his wish on the days that he’s not feeling great because as we get further out, the excitement may wear off, but the photos will bring him back to the best day of his life and help him fight,” Brittany said.

When I think about my wish, I feel good.
