Kennedy's wish to go to Japan

It's hard to put into words what our Make-A-Wish trip meant to our family. When people ask what our favorite part of Japan was, I honestly can't pick just one. It wasn't a single place—it was watching Kennedy experience something he had dreamed about for years.

Ever since he was little, he talked about going to Japan because he thought it was "the future." Seeing his face light up every single day made the whole trip so special. Whether we were at Universal Studios, walking through temples, feeding the deer in Nara, or just exploring the streets, he was taking it all in with so much excitement.

Kennedy was born with Long QT Syndrome. It's something that's always been part of our lives, but we don't let it define him. Make-A-Wish reminded us that life is about so much more than a diagnosis. It gave our family the chance to slow down, be together, and make memories we'll talk about for years.

One of my favorite things is that the trip didn't end when we came home. Kennedy still talks about Japan. He'll randomly bring up something he saw, ask when we can go back, or tell someone about his favorite memories. Seeing how much this experience has stayed with him has been the greatest gift of all.

Make-A-Wish gave our family something we'll never outgrow. The memories, the laughter, and the joy from that week are something we'll carry with us forever. I'm so thankful Kennedy got to live out his dream, and even more thankful we got to experience it right alongside him.
