Inspired People: Meet Ken

The faces behind the mission at Make-A-Wish® America make up a group of diverse people working together toward a common goal: to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Our dynamic, inspired culture centers around five core values: child focus, integrity, impact, innovation and community. In our #InspiredPeople series, we highlight exceptional employees who exemplify these values and work hard to help us get closer to achieving our vision of granting the wish of every eligible child. Meet Ken.

Ken plays an instrumental role in the Make-A-Wish America building capital campaign, which has helped fund a permanent home for more than 200 of his colleagues. Between researching and building relationships with potential and current donors, it’s safe to say Ken keeps a full schedule.

“No matter how busy I am, I try to minimize my own stress and encourage my colleagues to do the same,” said Ken. “Humor is the best tool I’ve found, paired with having an amazing team.”

Ken is continuously inspired by the children and families his work allows him to serve, as well as how the Make-A-Wish mission brings people together, regardless of their backgrounds.

“Our mission is powerful, and I believe that granting the wishes of children with critical illnesses is only half of what we do. Working for Make-A-Wish has also transformed my own life, as I’ve seen and felt how our mission has the power to enrich the human spirit.”

Ken’s spirit hasn’t only been enriched, he’s also enriched the lives of those around him.
