Inspired People: Meet Haris
The faces behind the mission at Make-A-Wish® America make up a group of diverse people working together toward a common goal: to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Meet Haris.
Haris’ favorite project as part of the Make-A-Wish team is one he’s currently the lead engineer on – the organization-wide rollout of Centralized Technology Services.
“It wasn’t until we started introducing CTS that we realized how much of an impact it would have,” said Haris. “Today, we enable colleagues and volunteers across the country to transform lives by providing essential resources and tools, including our global address list, phone system, 24/7 network monitoring and more.”
Haris has established himself as a technical subject-matter expert for the CTS implementation and said his success has been a product of being able to see the bigger picture and continuous learning.
“At Make-A-Wish, I’ve had the opportunity to learn about every type of technology being used in the industry. Over the past five years, I’ve gained skills that I could only dream of acquiring at other organizations and had the opportunity to mentor, train and pass on knowledge within our team.”
For Haris, being part of the Make-A-Wish team means being part of something bigger than himself – through not only helping grant wishes, but also bringing hope and joy into this world.
“Working at Make-A-Wish has opened my eyes to a community full of kind, caring and loving individuals. Our culture is full of people who go out of their way to make a positive impact on the world and help others. There aren’t many places in the world where you’ll be able to find such an amazing group of people.”
