Transform lives, one gift at a time

Each year, children across our islands are diagnosed with critical illnesses. Receiving this news can create anxiety, fear, and sadness for the child and their loved ones. A wish come true replaces these feelings with hope, joy, and confidence, sparking imagination and uniting families in the process. But too many eligible children don’t benefit from the lifechanging impact of a wish due to lack of funding.

Your gift is crucial in giving more Hawaii keiki and their families the tools they need to keep fighting and to imagine life beyond illness. Choose among our giving options below to deliver strength and transform lives.

Any Wish is Possible Fund

From meeting a unicorn or swimming with a mermaid to becoming a celebrated actress or a famous recording artist, each wish is as unique as a child’s imagination. And just as there is no limit to our keiki’s imagination, there’s no limit to how your gift can make a difference. Your gift to this fund supports us in a myriad of ways, giving us the flexibility to say “yes” to every child’s most heartfelt, creative wish.

Holoholo Fund

Wish kids fight their battles a little harder when they know they will soon fly off to shoot hoops with their favorite basketball star, walk the red carpet in Hollywood, reunite with family across the country, or visit the Happiest Place on Earth. In fact, nearly 80 percent of Hawaii wishes involve travel. Your gift to this fund will help local keiki “holoholo,” or travel off-island, for the wish experience of their dreams.

Wishes Around The World Fund

As 12-year-old Grace battled cancer, she dreamed of a Parisian adventure, combining her two great loves: fashion and history. When Grace’s wish came true, she and her family escaped the white hospital walls for the bright flowerbeds at the Jardin du Luxembourg and the timeless art at the Louvre. Many wish keiki like Grace dream of faraway places—of snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, becoming a LEGO designer at the factory headquarters in Denmark, or holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. From our remote island location, sending these families across the world requires an important financial investment. Your gift to this fund will assist more wish keiki like Grace in trading the daily realities of their illness for unforgettable memories around the world.

Journey of a Wish Fund

A wish is more than one day or one trip. Beyond wish day, we accompany our wish families through every step of their difficult journeys. We visit them in the hospital. We go to their homes and bring them surprises. We check in with them as they navigate treatments and surgeries. We cheer for them when things are going well and support them when they are not. Donations to this fund allow us to navigate these challenges by granting wishes when they are needed—to reach children with the power of a wish no matter where they are on their journey.

Wishes Forever

Creating a legacy through endowment will go directly toward granting the most heartfelt wish of a child in perpetuity. We often say that our wish would be a world without the need for Make-A-Wish—for no child or family to endure the heartbreaking challenges of coping with a critical illness. Until our wish is granted, there will continue to be children diagnosed with critical conditions across our islands. And it’s our vision to reach each and every one of them with the power of a wish. Your gift to this fund will go directly toward that vision, changing the life of a child—or children—for generations to come.

Your Island Fund

We grant wishes on every island. While many wishes take place on Oahu, every island community works with us to make these wishes come true.  Maui businesses and laborers lent their time, resources, and hard work to build a therapy pool for wish kid Alexis. The Big Island community created a custom, radio-controlled raceway in Dominique’s back yard. Kauai volunteers arranged a private tour of a ship in Nawiliwili Harbor as a wish reveal for wish kid Harper, who wished to go on a Disney cruise with his family. And these are just a few examples of the magic that happens year-round when communities rally behind their local wish keiki. Your gift can fund a wish in your back yard, allowing us to grant wishes for children across the state.

Wish Granter and Volunteer Fund

On average, more than 200 hands will come together to make a single wish possible—and we couldn’t fulfill our mission without their time, talent, and passion. Volunteering takes many shapes. Many are wish granters, who meet directly with our wish children and their families to discover and plan their one true wish. Others donate their time as event volunteers, working to bring our major fundraising events to life. And some are office angels, who answer phone calls, stuff envelopes, and assist in the daily tasks that make our mission possible. Your gift to this fund will ensure our team of volunteers has the tools they need to make a difference in the lives of our wish kids.

Wish it Forward Fund

Who better to help grant wishes than those who have experienced the power of a wish firsthand? Our wish families are at the heart of our mission, and they inspire us every day. If you are a wish family looking to “wish it forward,” making a gift to this fund is one important way you can touch the lives of more families like yours. There’s no better gift than the gift of a wish!
