First-grader Carrigan Caston was surrounded by classmates at Wiederstein Elementary School when representatives from Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas revealed she’ll be heading on a weeklong trip to Walt Disney World and other Orlando-area theme parks.

Henry thought he getting a simple tour of The Rock at La Cantera, the practice facility of the San Antonio Spurs. Instead, he walked into the biggest surprise of his life — one orchestrated by the Spurs and his hero, Tim Duncan.

The young Spurs fan turned the corner was greeted by the five-time NBA champion. From there, he got a tour of the practice facility, smiling ear-to-ear while soaking it all in. He got to shoot baskets on the Spurs practice court, sit at his host’s table in the training area, and even check out the pool.

Kamari, 14, has spent much of her life in and out of hospitals battling serious medical conditions, including childhood cancer. During her journey, her social worker referred her to Make-A-Wish, where she shared her heartfelt wish—to celebrate her birthday at Disney World with her family.

This summer, that wish came true. Kamari and her family traveled to Orlando, where she experienced the magic of Disney alongside the people she loves most.
