Stacy Lowe and her wish granting partner, Kerry Cowen

Friends Stacy Lowe & Kerry Cowen grant wishes together for nearly 10 years

Stacy Lowe, who has been granting wishes for almost 10 years, was introduced to Make-A-Wish Arizona because of a friend.

“Kerry Cowen is a volunteer and she shared a story about a wish she was on, and that a community business was donating ice cream for her send off,” said Stacy. “I thought that was such an amazing idea, to include the community in fulfilling wishes so I signed up to become a volunteer. After granting my first few wishes, I was hooked.”

To date, Stacy has granted more than 30 wishes in around her Tucson/Vail community.

“I volunteer because I like to find what makes these kids happy,” she said. “I can't change what is going on with them medically, but I can assist emotionally by helping them to find joy.

“Kids and teenagers are super creative and having something to truly look forward to and grasp onto is life changing. I love to see what they come up with and help them bring their wish to life.”

Nothing beats being a wish granter. It’s one of the favorite things I do and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

While each of Stacy’s wishes is unique, they share one thing in common – her wish partner, Kerry, has always been by her side.

“It’s great to have someone to rely on and we trust each other,” she said. “I’m very humbled to get to know wish families and grant their wish but working with Kerry makes it fun and rewarding to grant wishes.”
