Chrischell enjoys soaking in sunnier days at the beach

As vibrant Chrischell persisted through difficult leukemia treatments, she maintained her joyful spirit–but longed for sunnier days.

When asked to choose her wish, Chrischell did not hesitate: a family vacation with her parents and two sisters to the beach to celebrate the conclusion of her treatment!

In her mind, she had planned every detailof the trip, from swimming with mermaids tofinding a house with along slide to the ocean!

After a “really long” plane ride, Chrischell and her family spent nearly every second by the ocean and enjoyed, by an unofficial count, everything there is to do at the beach, including splashing in the waves and lounging on the soft, warm sand.

For Chrischell, her wish trip would be a celebration to mark the end of her treatment. The ocean waved in welcome as Chrischell and her family arrived at their beach house and lounged on the warm, soft sand. Chrischell also swam with mermaids and even transformed into one herself!

Refreshed from the fun and sun of a worry-free getaway, Chrischell said her wish was “amazing.”

Every 20 minutes this summer, a childlike Chrischell will be diagnosed with a critical illness.

Each one of these children urgently need a wish to give them strength in their fight – but these months account for the busiest and costliest wish-granting season at Make-A-Wish.

Your support is urgently needed if we are to give more children like Chrischell a piece of their childhood back, the possibility of better health outcomes and the belief in brighter days ahead.
