Six-year-old Jonie is a cancer fighter and has always been an animal lover. When Jonie learned she’d be a wish recipient, she wished to spend a day meeting and spreading love to the amazing creatures she adores.
Bringing Jonie’s adorable vision to life was possible thanks to zoo and conservancy staff, who designed an experience Jonie would remember forever – and a moment from which she could draw nurturing strength and renewed joy.
At the zoo, Jonie met gorillas, llamas and giraffes. But the highlight was her unicorn photoshoot. “I loved it!” Jonie said. “I got to pet a unicorn, feed the giraffes [and] feed the gorillas a peanut.” Jonie’s wish empowered her to look toward her future – which will no doubt include many more zoo trips!
