Averil’s Wish: Journey to Epic Universe

For 6-year-old Averil from Shelburne Vermont, Epic Universe was his dream come true.

To theme park fans everywhere, Universal’s Epic Universe is the newest frontier in immersive adventure. Opened in 2025, the park brings five themed worlds to life, including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Super Nintendo World, and the Isle of Berk from How to Train Your Dragon.

For 6-year-old Averil from Shelburne Vermont, Epic Universe was his dream come true. He’s always had a heart for Harry Potter, Nintendo, and How to Train Your Dragon. His mom shared, “He [was] super excited about all that Epic Universe has to offer. He loves the How to Train your Dragon movies [and] wants to fly a dragon. Mostly though, the Harry Potter world.”

Before his wish, Averil was reading The Prisoner of Azkaban, book three in the Harry Potter series, and dreaming about the magical places within its pages. So, when his family learned that Universal’s new Epic Universe would expand the Wizarding World, it was the perfect fit for him.

At Universal Orlando, fans can step straight into the world of Harry Potter, exploring the streets of Hogsmeade, sipping frothy Butterbeer, watching the Hogwarts Frog Choir perform, or visiting Ollivanders to see where wands choose their witches and wizards. Guests can board the Hogwarts Express to travel between Universal Parks. It’s a place where every spell, sound, and story from the series comes to life, and for a young fan like Averil, there is no destination more magical.

When the day finally arrived, Averil and his brother entered the rainbow portals of Epic Universe with wonder. He got splashed on water rides, played bongos in Nintendo World, and proudly held his wand in front of Hogwarts Castle.

Averil’s Wish was the kind that stays long after the spell is cast.
