Young Leaders Board

The Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana Young Leaders Board (“YLB”) is a group of young professionals in the Greater Houston area between the ages of 22 and 40. Our YLB members are dedicated to supporting, promoting, and expanding the mission of Make-A-Wish. In the future, YLB aspires to expand to mirror the expansive reach of the chapter across 47 counties in the Texas Gulf Coast and all 64 parishes in Louisiana.

The YLB enjoys personal and professional development opportunities through our connection with Make-A-Wish. While distinguishing themselves in their true dedication to the Make-A-Wish mission, our members’ involvement during our early growth provides opportunities to hold positions on the YLB Leadership Team, offer input on strategic areas, drive membership growth, and engage with the community. The YLB is made up of individuals who strive to make a difference and take initiative to carry out the mission of Make-A-Wish.

In addition to helping grant the life-changing wishes of children with critical illnesses, YLB members have opportunities to interact with the Make-A-Wish Board of Directors and serve on select board committees. Our social and networking opportunities include the annual World Wish Day reception hosted by the Make-A-Wish Board of Directors, as well as YLB events in which board members have graciously attended and warmly supported the YLB.

In just three years, the YLB has raised nearly $80,000 on behalf of Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana and fully sponsored granting four wishes as of April 2023. We have fun together while creating fundraising and promotional events to support the Make-A-Wish mission.
