Trevor's Wish to meet the New Orleans Pelicans

Wish kid Trevor is a 13-year-old with a nervous system disorder who wished to meet the New Orleans Pelicans.

On December 23, 2023, the Pelicans invited Trevor to spend some time on the court with them and watch their game against the Houston Rockets. Trevor arrived at the Smoothie King Center and was immediately escorted to the court to watch the team practice. He met Trey Murphy first, who hopped off of the court to introduce himself and signed a basketball Trevor brought from home. Trevor’s Dad, Stepdad, and Trevor himself had the opportunity to spend some time with Trey Murphy’s dad, Kenny, who sat down next to the family while watching their son practice. After a while, Trevor got to meet his hero, Jose Alvarado. Trevor said that Jose is such an inspiration to him because he’s a smaller player and has overcome so much adversity to be where he is today. Jose spent some time with Trevor, presented him with a signed jersey, and autographed all of Trevor’s items.

After that, the New Orleans Pelicans broadcasters, Antonio Davis and Joel Meyers stopped by. As Trevor is a stats whiz, they had LOTS to talk about. As Antonio Davis walked up to Trevor he told him he heard he knew a lot about stats and Trevor said, “I learned from you”. David Griffin, the Executive VP of Basketball Ops, also stopped by to talk to Trevor. They talked a lot about the team’s history, uniforms and, of course, stats. Trevor also received autographs from Brandon Ingram and Matt Ryan before heading to their seats to watch the big game!
