However, she finds strength from her favorite movie, Dolphin Tale. Through the story of dolphin, Winter, and her human friend, Hope, Sadie learned that she could be both different and happy—just like Winter!

For her wish, Sadie wanted a “meet and greet” with some precocious dolphins that reminded her of Winter. Working with our counterparts in Florida, and local wish sponsor Raising Cane’s, Make-A-Wish arranged for Sadie and her family—Sara (mom), Steven (stepdad), and Seth (brother)—to travel to St. Augustine for her dolphin experience, a tour of America’s oldest city, a swimming excursion with manatees, and a mermaid photo shoot!  Following a send-off party at Raising Cane’s restaurant, Sadie and her family headed off to create her own “dolphin tale!”
