Liberty Hill Teen to receive birthday wish of a lifetime Â
COLLEGE STATION, TX (MARCH 26, 2024) - Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana and Texas A&M University Athletics are partnering to grant a dream birthday wish for a Liberty Hill teen whose dream is to throw out the first pitch at a Texas A&M University Baseball game. Â
Mason, 12, cystic fibrosis, is a Texas A&M Baseball super fan, and has had a life-long dream to meet the team and throw out the first pitch. That wish is being granted Saturday, March 30 during the Texas A&M vs Auburn Tigers game at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. Â
Mason’s ultimate first pitch wish includes a visit to the team’s locker room, watching batting practice, and of course, receiving new fan gear to take home with him. Mason, an ambitious future Aggie whose favorite color is maroon, says “the experience of being with the team and feeling like I’m one of them would be amazing.” Â
“We have a fantastic night planned for Mason and his family, and we cannot wait to see his expression when he gets to meet the baseball team for the first time,” said Shelly Millwee, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana. “We can’t thank Texas A&M University enough for their support in this wish celebration. They have gone above and beyond to make this night special for Mason; all his dreams are about to come true.”Â
Mason will receive a special tour of Kyle Field on Friday morning thanks to the 12th Man Foundation followed by Saturday’s wish day, where he will also receive a facility tour of Olsen Field and Blue Bell Park, team meet and greets, and home plate seats. This wish is also special for Mason as he will be turning 13 years old on Sunday, March 31. Â
