At just three months of life, Yarelyz had to undergo a liver transplant. So young at the time, doctors were doubtful that she would go on to live a long, healthy life. Now, she still faces minor health complications but is in much better shape than her medical team originally imagined.

Since Yarelyz was a young girl, she always dreamt of having a Cinderella-themed, traditional quinceañera party. She fantasized about wearing a princess ball gown and tiara, and dancing with her friends and family as she celebrated stepping into her adulthood. With the help of Make-A-Wish, national partner Five Below, and LeVenue, Yarelyz celebrated the party of her dreams with her friends and family.

The day after Yarelyz turned 15, LeVenue in Tampa hosted her and her closest community to celebrate the milestone birthday. She was glammed, escorted to the venue in a limo, performed choreographed dances with her friends and family, and delivered a moving speech of strength and gratitude.

Some other memorable details include a gift wall for guests to select their own goodies to take home, a fun photobooth, and even an Hora Loca with characters appearing in costume, such as a dancing robot and a Latin reggaeton singer.

A general theme that followed throughout Yarelyz’s wish day was gratitude. The wish family was not only immensely grateful to Make-A-Wish for bringing Yarelyz happiness by granting her wish, but also grateful to see this momentous day happen. Due to her health journey, turning 15 was never guaranteed for Yarelyz, which made this wish and party all the more special.

Evelyn, Yarelyz’s mom, now says their family is eager to pay the generosity forward by giving their time and resources to more foundations dedicated to making children happy.
