Faith's wish brings her and her family hope and joy
When wish kid Faith was born, her parents had no idea anything was wrong. “At about 3 or 4 months of age we started noticing there were some problems. She wasn’t keeping up with the milestones,” reflected Faith’s mom, Charity.
Faith was diagnosed with a nervous system disorder that impacts every aspect of her life. “She has a shorter life expectancy and she has never talked,” said Charity. “It is daunting to realize no matter what you do, you’re going to outlive your child. I think for me that was probably the worst thing,” said Faith’s dad, Nick.
Faith loves being in the water and around people. Her parents knew a pool would allow her to do something she loves while spending time with her family. Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana granted Faith’s wish for a pool with a lift in her backyard.
“To see the happiness on her face has been priceless. Her brother can be in the pool with her. You can’t put a price on that,” said Nick.
“We have this little placard that says when you have faith you have hope and if you have hope you have everything. So, Faith to us is the hope and Make-A-Wish bringing this pool and helping us make memories with her for as long as she’s here with us just brings us so much more hope,” said Charity. “We’re going to love all the memories we make with her.”
