Wish kid receives an Emmy Nomination!

Just keep swimming.” This famous line from the movie Finding Nemo is a motto wish kid Addie applies to her daily life. “Addie is the most positive, happiest, sweetest person you’ll ever meet,” said her mom, Andrea. “She could be having the worst day, and she always finds the silver lining.”

Addie has a genetic disorder that causes brittle bones. She was born with a severe skull fracture and a broken rib, and in her young life, she has undergone more than 50 surgeries. After an accident in 2021, Addie lost partial vision and hearing and had to re-learn to talk, eat and sing. Despite so much out of her control, she just keeps swimming, defying the odds.

Addie’s wish to be a Pixar Animation Studios Voice Actor was granted in 2022, giving her a chance to voice that famous line and the confidence to pursue her dreams of being a professional Voice Actor.

Since Make-A-Wish granted Addie’s wish, she signed a contract with a professional voiceover agency in Los Angeles! She graduated college and was nominated for an Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Ohio Valley Chapter.

As a result of the wish, I was inspired to continue pursuing something that I love,” said Addie. “The Emmy nomination validated that the wish was just the beginning.”
