Colter

Colter's Galatic Wish

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away, a Jedi named Colter wished to visit the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World. Although he is young, Colter is strong in the Force. He’s been battling cancer for the last few years, and throughout his journey, he has found great comfort in the world of bounty hunters, droids and Jedi.

Colter and his family spent countless hours immersing themselves in all things Star Wars during his treatments and hospital stays. The movies, LEGO sets, games and costumes transported Colter away from his diagnosis and into a vast, starry universe, allowing him to focus on something completely unrelated to his illness. A few months after he was diagnosed, Colter was referred to Make-A-Wish by his social worker Cinnamon, who knew a wish could bring him and his family some much-needed hope and joy.

Colter was thrilled to discover that his wish was going to come true, and as he told his wish granters all about his favorite things, the conversation always veered toward Star Wars. When his wish granters told him about the new Star Wars experience at Disney World, his desire was clear: Colter wished to visit the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser!

Make-A-Wish booked the flights and prepared the perfect itinerary for Colter’s wish. Soon enough, it was time for the family to arrive at the Star Wars terminal, board a launch pod and enter the Halcyon Starcruiser. They stayed in a cabin with an astonishing view of the universe, and throughout the ship, they met incredible characters, enjoyed out-of-this-world cuisine and went on a top-secret mission. Colter even had the chance to design his own lightsaber and engage in combat with other Jedis.

After wrapping up their adventure on the Galactic Starcruiser, Colter and his family explored Disney World and spent time at Give Kids The World, a resort created just for kids with critical illnesses and their families. Colter’s wish gave him a chance to be a kid again while making incredible memories with his family.

“There is not a day that goes by that Colter doesn’t talk about some part of the trip,” his mother shared. “I don’t think that anything will ever measure up to that trip. Thank you so much for blessing us so deeply. We wish you all the joy and return of the blessings that you provide! Thank you again, a million times over.”

May the Force be with Colter as he continues to fight cancer!
