26th WZPL MAKE-A-WISH® REQUEST-A-THON RAISES RECORD $1.08M!
(Indianapolis, IN) December 7th, 2022 – The WZPL Smiley Morning Show Make-A-Wish® Request-A-Thon on December 1st and 2nd raised a record $1.085M! That’s enough to grant more than 100 wishes for central Indiana kids with critical illnesses and brings the total amount raised in 26 years is more than $11M.
“The impact of this annual event is tremendous and just keeps getting greater,” said Amy Nelson, Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana Senior Market Director of Advancement. “In its inaugural year in 1997, the event raised $52,000. This is now the third year in a row that we’ve surpassed raising $1M! We’re so grateful to WZPL, the Smiley Morning Show, and our generous community and sponsors for their continual support.”
99.5 zpl/WZPL-FM is a Top 40 station in Indianapolis, IN. Every year during the 36-hour event, corporate partners support the program through sponsorship, and listeners request songs in exchange for donations.
