Make-A-Wish^® Idaho

Boise, ID:  KONO Nutrition is holding the first annual Stronger Together 5k at Camel’s Back Park on September 25 to raise money for Make-A-Wish ® Idaho. The course, dubbed Boise’s hardest 5k, is ten laps up and down the stairs at Camel’s Back. Registration for the event begins at noon with the event kicking off at 1 p.m. Participants are encouraged to tackle the race at their own pace. A twenty-dollar minimum donation is required to run. One hundred percent of proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Idaho in honor of wish kid Hailey.

Wish kid Hailey is an eight-year-old Nampa resident with leukemia whose wish is to go to Disney World to meet Moana. Hailey and her family will be special guests at the event. Currently, there are over 125 Idaho kids waiting on their wishes, and donations raised from the event will help ensure those wishes, as well as Hailey’s, are granted in a quick and meaningful way.  

"I’m honored to host this event and give back to Make-A-Wish Idaho, an organization that’s near and dear to my heart,” said Alex Conley, founder of KONO Nutrition. “As a child with leukemia, I reaped the benefits of a wish trip. To have it come full circle and be in the position to help sponsor a wish trip for another child facing leukemia is beyond special. It’s been incredible to interact with Hailey and see how excited she is for her trip to Disney World!“ 

“It’s been our goal to bring the local health and wellness community together for an event like this,” Alex continued. “The participants will have a chance to challenge themselves with a tough 5k, learn more about health from some incredible guest speakers and other local companies, and most importantly raise money together for an incredible cause.” 

The Stronger Together 5k will also serve as a wellness retreat with ice baths, a yoga warmup, free product samples, prizes and more.
