As one fiscal year ends and another begins, we’re excited to take a moment and celebrate the joy, hope and strength that children with critical illnesses across 161 counties in North Texas discovered through their wishes over the last year.

These children had an incredible time during their wish experiences, whether they were meeting their favorite characters at Disney World, relaxing in their new backyard playhouses or trying on new outfits during their shopping sprees.

Thanks to donors like you, Make-A-Wish granted 488 wishes throughout the last year! Your generosity helped grant wishes for kids like:

• Lynetta, 7, who wished to visit her best friend in Ohio after they had gone nearly two years without seeing each other.
• Keller, 5, who wished to have an animal interaction. He met giraffes and lions – a few of his favorite animals!
• Destiny, 14, who wished to visit South Padre Island with her family. She held a sting ray during a boating trip!
• Kodye, 13, who wished for a shopping spree at Target. She was welcomed into the store by Chi Omega sisters at Baylor University and had a personalized shopping experience.
• Justin, 4, who wished to have electronics. He was so happy to get a new iPad, Xbox and so many cool accessories!

488 children experienced the life-giving power of a wish this year. 488 families were transformed by their wish experiences. 488 children have amazing memories to reflect on—and we can’t thank you enough for helping make that happen!

As we celebrate and reminisce on a powerful year, we keep the nearly 1,300 wish kids who are still waiting for their wishes to come true top of mind. These children and their families face incredibly difficult medical journeys, and the hope of a wish can help carry them through the most trying days.
