18-year-old Aaron has always had a passion for cooking. When he is not at school, playing video games, or receiving treatments for his lymphoma, he is most likely testing out a new recipe that he came up with. One day he would like to attend culinary school and open his own food truck, so it was only fitting for Aaron to wish to take over a food truck for the day to feed his friends and family.
Aaron was eager to learn the ropes of operating Chef Dan Kardos’ food truck on his wish day. Before taking over, Chef Dan Kardos of Oar & Oak and Chef Zach Hinman of Don Memo showed him how to prepare the dishes on his menu including a variety of tacos, tamales, and tostadas. Then it was his turn. Aaron was handed the spoon and started his day as a chef. He made the taco filling, assembled the tostadas, and wrapped the tamales. All his dishes were served with a smile as he watched all of his guests enjoy the food that he prepared for them.
Cooking has always been a way that Aaron and his family bond. With his wish Aaron was not only able to delve into his own passion for cooking, but he was also able to share it with his loved ones.
