What ways are you involved as a volunteer?
I am a wish granter and mentor.
How did you first find Make-A-Wish?
My sister told me about the mission.
How long have you been volunteering with Make-A-Wish Minnesota?
I have been volunteering for about 15 years.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of volunteering with Make-A-Wish?
Seeing the smiles on the wish kid's faces when they realize they are getting their wish or seeing the excitement they share with their families.
What advice would you give to new volunteers?
Have fun and focus on the positives.
What story would you share to inspire others to become a volunteer with Make-A-Wish?
One of my wish kid was very sick and his mom was afraid he wasn’t going to make it. We worked quickly to grant his wish to go to the ESPY awards in California. I was at the airport to send them off and told them I would be there when they returned. They were so surprised when they arrived back in Minneapolis at 3 a.m. and I was there to greet them. We are still friends after 13 years!
